We’re recruiting! We are seeking a skilled and experienced Research & Policy Officer who will relish the challenge of working with us to develop an influential and respected policy and research function.
We are looking for someone who shares our ambition for delivering social and environmental change, is prepared to challenge the existing models of ownership and management of our woodlands, waterways, coasts and green spaces, and who is committed to supporting the development of more sustainable local economies.
We are a young social enterprise taking the exciting steps of moving from start-up to becoming a more well-established business. We are unable to provide some of the benefits, infrastructure or security of more established organisations. However we can offer the excitement and satisfaction of breaking new ground in the sector, and the challenge of changing the established models of ownership and management of our environmental assets.

Your covering letter should be no more than two sides of A4, and it should address how you meet the following criteria:
- Experience of developing and undertaking high quality research work
- Experience of developing policy positions based on a range of evidence and information sources
- Experience of using creative methods of communicating information and ideas
- Enthusiasm for Shared Assets’ work and vision
In addition to your CV and covering letter we would like all applicants to provide a short article (no more than 1500 words) on the following topic:
The Scottish government’s recent programme for government included proposals for land reform. Please consider the impact these proposals might have on the sustainable management of land by communities and social enterprises, and the potential for developing a similar land reform agenda in the rest of the U.K.
