We have two new part time jobs available! Read on for details...

Shared Assets is growing, and we need more people!

We are a ‘think and do tank’ that supports the development of new models of managing land for shared social, economic and environmental benefits. We are the only UK-based organisation working with communities, landowners, researchers and policy makers to ensure land is managed as a productive asset for future generations.

We are looking for people who share our vision of making land work for everyone. We’re a small, busy team with big ambitions and we are excited about finding two new people to help us develop our business. As we are still a small and developing organisation, we can’t offer the job security or benefits of more established companies. We can, however, offer flexibility, variety, a friendly working environment, and genuine opportunities to develop your skills and experience.

We have two part time vacancies, both with scope for development and extension:

  1. Consultancy and Research Assistant
    • 3 days a week, £22k pro-rata
    • This is a trainee role to support the delivery of our practical consultancy and research work. It will involve attending and participating in meetings, delivering training, desk research and fieldwork.
    • We are looking for someone creative, enterprising and ambitious, with a passion for working with people.
    • More details, including how to apply, in the job description and person specification here.
  2. Communications and Administration Intern
    • 2 days a week, £18k pro-rata
    • 6 month fixed-term contract
    • This role is focussed on managing and improving our communications, including leading on social media and co-ordinating a refresh of our website
    • We’re looking for someone with the skills to communicate complex issues clearly, and with social media experience
    • More details, including how to apply, in the job description and person specification here.

The deadline for applications for both jobs is Monday 16th November. We will let all applicants know whether they’ve been successful in getting an interview or not after that date. Our office is in London, but we are open to candidates who may wish to work remotely: this will depend on the level of support and supervision that the successful candidate will require, though. In other words, we’d prefer someone based in London but would be open to remote working for exceptional candidates.

You can read about the experiences of previous interns here, and here – and you might find it helpful to check out this blog we wrote about getting through the first CV sift for intern applications (but it is just as relevant for applications to the assistant role) here. The best way of finding out more about what we’ve been up to recently is by checking out our latest blogs here, or taking a look at our twitter feed.

If so you can sign up to the Shared Assets newsletter for free and we'll send you an email once a month with our latest news and thoughts. Don't worry though - we'll never clog up your inbox with spam or pass your details onto other companies - we hate that stuff too.
